Lionel Richie Postpones Tour Dates After Health Scare on Stage

Lionel Richie has postponed two dates on his Sing A Song All Night Long Tour after suffering a health scare during a concert in Chicago.

The 77-year-old singer was performing “Dancing on the Ceiling” when he began feeling dizzy and sat down on stage. Richie attempted to continue the show by performing “Three Times a Lady” while seated before taking an unscheduled intermission.

About 40 minutes later, his saxophonist returned to the stage to inform the audience that Richie was too unwell to continue the concert.

Following the incident, doctors advised the music legend to rest, prompting the postponement of his scheduled performances in Chicago and Columbus.

In a statement shared by tour organizers, Richie thanked fans for their understanding and said he looked forward to returning to the stage once he had recovered.

The Sing A Song All Night Long Tour, which also features Earth, Wind & Fire, is now expected to resume with its next scheduled stop in Pittsburgh, subject to Richie’s recovery.

Fans have since taken to social media to wish the Grammy-winning singer a speedy recovery, with many expressing relief that he is taking time to prioritize his health before returning to the road.
