Bad Black Considers Bid for Kampala Woman MP Seat

Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur Bad Black, born Shanitah Namuyimbwa, has revealed that she is considering a future bid for the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) seat.

Speaking to Haffy Powers on Sanyuka TV‘s Bigenda Bitya, Bad Black said her life experiences have given her a deep understanding of the challenges women face, making her confident she can represent them in Parliament.

I have gone through a lot, and I believe people will vote for me. I also know the difficulties women go through.

She also criticized some elected leaders for abandoning the people who voted for them.

The reason why I want to do this is because most people, after they get voted into office, forget their voters and end up doing nothing, yet during elections they promise a lot of things.

Bad Black rose to fame in the late 2000s as one of Uganda’s most talked-about socialites before reinventing herself as a businesswoman, influencer, and philanthropist.

If she runs, she will join a growing list of Ugandan entertainers and media personalities who have entered politics.

For now, she has only expressed interest in the seat and has not announced an official campaign.
