The DNA results may have ended Godfrey Muwanguzi’s claim to being one of the late Kadongo Kamu singer Paul Kafeero‘s biological children, but they also marked the beginning of a new journey.
After leading a TikTok Live fundraiser that raised UGX 20 million for Muwanguzi, Ugandan singer Bruno K has shared how the support is already changing the young man’s life.
According to Bruno K, Muwanguzi has received a plot of land from well-wishers, with every step of the transfer handled transparently to avoid future disputes.
I personally signed on the land title, so people should not worry.
The land, however, is only one part of a bigger plan.
Bruno K said Muwanguzi will soon start a business expected to generate a steady daily income before returning to school to pursue engineering, giving him the opportunity to build a stable future.
For the singer, helping Muwanguzi goes beyond responding to the public sympathy that followed the DNA results.
He believes fame carries a responsibility to improve other people’s lives and challenged fellow public figures to use their platforms for the same purpose.
Having a name and fame without helping people is nothing. Instead of talking badly about me for helping others, they should join me and use their influence to change people’s lives.
Bruno K also dismissed claims that he benefits financially from the people he supports.
You can ask all the people I have helped. I have never asked for money from any of them. Those who think otherwise are entitled to their own understanding and perception.
Turning to the wider debate sparked by the Paul Kafeero DNA exercise, Bruno K said he does not support exhuming bodies to establish paternity after death.
He added that he knows all of his children and that members of his family know them as well, making such a process unnecessary in his own case.
