Singer Cindy Sanyu has praised fellow musician Grace Nakimera, describing her as one of Uganda’s most ambitious female artists and expressing excitement over her return to the music scene.
Speaking during an interview on KFM, Cindy said Grace is among the few artists she believes possess the drive and determination needed to leave a lasting mark on the industry.
Reflecting on previous discussions about a possible musical battle, Cindy revealed that Grace was one of the first names that came to mind because of the energy she brings to her craft.
“When they asked me who I thought would put up a good battle with me, I said I missed Grace’s energy,” Cindy said.
The singer explained that what sets Grace apart is her desire to achieve more than commercial success.
According to Cindy, while many female musicians are satisfied with releasing hit songs and enjoying the rewards of fame, Grace has always demonstrated a passion for building a lasting legacy through her music.
“She is one of those women who is ambitious. Most female artists just want a hit song, shoot some nice videos, find a good man and that’s it. But there are artists who want to create a legacy, and Grace is one of them,” she said.
Cindy added that Grace’s recent comeback has reminded fans of the determination that defined her earlier career.
“You can see she wants something. She’s hungry,” she said.
She also expressed her support for Grace’s latest chapter, saying she is eager to watch the singer perform live again.
“I had missed that energy. Seeing her comeback has made me one of the most excited people. I can’t wait to attend her concert,” Cindy said.
