The DNA exercise that identified the biological children of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Kafeero may have settled one family’s paternity dispute, but events promoter Abtex believes it should also pave the way for legal reforms.
During a recent interview, Abtex called on Members of Parliament to introduce tougher laws targeting women who knowingly mislead men about the paternity of their children.
He argued that the rising number of paternity disputes demands stronger legal measures to protect families and discourage deception.
Abtex made the call after DNA results confirmed only four of the 25 people who came forward claiming to be Paul Kafeero’s biological children, a development that ignited a nationwide conversation about paternity, inheritance, and family trust.
He also urged families not to fear DNA testing, arguing that the process brings certainty even when the truth is painful.
