Millions of followers have rallied around Nara Smith after the popular influencer revealed that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, was diagnosed with cancer.
Known for her viral “from scratch” cooking videos, Nara shared the emotional update in a tearful video, opening up about one of the most difficult chapters her family has faced.

The 24-year-old said the ordeal began late last year when she and her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, noticed something unusual about their daughter and rushed her to the emergency room.
Although doctors initially struggled to determine the cause, Nara said a visit to their pediatrician left her fearing the worst.
My heart dropped… I do not know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing I felt was, ‘She has cancer.’
Doctors later carried out X-rays, ultrasounds and a biopsy before confirming the diagnosis.
Nara said the cancer had already spread, prompting doctors to begin chemotherapy immediately. She did not disclose the specific type of cancer or provide details about Whimsy’s current condition.
Beyond the medical battle, Nara described the emotional toll the diagnosis took on her family as they balanced hospital visits, caring for their other children, work commitments and her postpartum recovery.
She also shared that connecting with other parents whose children were facing similar diagnoses helped her navigate one of the most isolating periods of her life.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of support across social media, with fans and fellow creators flooding the comments section with messages of encouragement and prayers for Whimsy’s recovery. Others also urged people not to spread misinformation by linking childhood cancer to diet, noting that such illnesses have complex causes.
In the caption accompanying her video, Nara expressed gratitude to the medical team that cared for her daughter.
