Veteran singer Jose Chameleone has threatened to take legal action against Bukedde TV gossip show host Josephat Sseguya over claims suggesting that one of his children is not biologically his.
The controversy began after Sseguya, through a post on his personal Facebook account, alleged that DNA testing had ruled out one of Chameleone’s children as his biological offspring. The claim quickly sparked speculation on social media, with many users attempting to identify the child in question.
Reacting to the reports, Chameleone dismissed the allegations as false and malicious, saying they had caused him distress. In a strongly worded statement shared on his X account, the singer warned that Sseguya could face legal consequences if he continued spreading what he described as baseless claims.
To counter the allegations, Chameleone publicly listed the children he recognizes as his biological offspring, namely Aidah Mayanja, Abba Mayanja, Alpha Mayanja, Alba Mayanja, Ama Christian Mayanja, Zari Amani Mayanja, and Anna Mayanja. He questioned who the alleged child referred to by Sseguya could be.
“I am very devastated by this false allegation, Mr. Sseguya! You might pay a very big price whilst looking for attention. You are slowly opening a can of worms. This is not true. You have taken your lies really far, and I guess we are going to deal with this in court. Stop your malicious allegations right now!” Chameleone wrote.
The singer has maintained that the allegations are entirely false and has vowed to pursue the matter through the courts if the claims are not retracted. At the time of publication, Josephat Sseguya had not publicly responded to Chameleone’s threat of legal action.
