Ugandan singer Pallaso has opened up about the success of Malidadi, his hit collaboration with Mimi Kampala, saying the song’s impressive run is the result of hard work, patience, and faith.
Released in June 2026, Malidadi quickly gained momentum across streaming platforms and social media, inspiring the viral #Malidadi dance challenge as fans embraced its infectious sound and choreography.

Speaking during an interview on Sanyuka TV, Pallaso said neither he nor Mimi Kampala expected to predict the song’s success.
Instead, they focused on making quality music and giving the project the attention it deserved.
We are all about making good music. Whenever we make a song, we do not set out to create a bad one. However, we cannot determine how far a song will go because only God can decide that. We gave this song time, created content around it, shot a video, invested time in the studio, and sought more input whenever we needed it. In the end, it worked out very well.

The song has since become one of the duo’s biggest collaborations, with thousands of fans joining the #Malidadi challenge and helping push the track to an even wider audience.
We are a team that believes in good music. We gave the song enough time and it worked out very well.- Pallaso on his collaboration with Mimi Kampala.#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/JLj3DHTgIy
