Socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has once again addressed the talk surrounding her appearance after confirming that she recently underwent a cosmetic facelift. Speaking in a TikTok video, Zari said her face has become a “national discussion” on social media and used the opportunity to clarify exactly what procedure she had done.
According to Zari, she did not undergo a full facelift as many people have claimed online. Instead, she revealed that she had a temporal lift, a cosmetic procedure focused around the eye area.
She explained that a full facelift is a more invasive surgery involving cuts to the face, insisting that her procedure was much less extensive. Zari added that she has no intention of hiding the work she had done and believes there is nothing wrong with enhancing one’s appearance while aging.
She also blamed heavy makeup for some of the viral photos circulating online, saying they made her new look appear exaggerated.
Zari defended her appearance, maintaining that she still looks beautiful in person and that the criticism has been fueled by unflattering images rather than reality.
I didn’t do a full face, I did a temporal lift around the eyes because a full facelift involves you being cut. I’m not gatekeeping, I’m the beautiful friend that you want to have. God already made me beautiful, even before all of this, I have been gorgeous. I’m just enhancing as we get older.
The Ugandan-born socialite further revealed that this was the first time she had ever undergone cosmetic surgery on her face. She insisted that the photos being used to mock her online do not accurately represent her appearance and urged critics to move on from the topic.
“Can you please stop talking about my face now? It’s still gorgeous,” Zari said, reaffirming her confidence despite the ongoing social media debate.
