Burna Boy has added another milestone to his career after becoming the first African recording artist to perform at the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show.
The Nigerian hitmaker shared the stage with Shakira to perform the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” before a global audience during Sunday’s final.
His appearance made history as he led the African representation in a star-studded lineup that included Justin Bieber, BTS, and Madonna, with Chris Martin appearing during the show’s finale.
Uganda’s Ghetto Kids also performed during the halftime show, adding another African presence to the historic event.
Spain went on to beat Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the World Cup trophy, while IShowSpeed wrapped up the celebrations during the closing ceremony.
