Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo has become the subject of online jokes after his prediction about the winner of the FIFA World Cup failed to come true. Spain eventually lifted the trophy, leaving many social media users questioning his earlier forecast.
In a video that has resurfaced online, Bujjingo predicted that the tournament would be won by one of four teams; Argentina, France, Brazil or Portugal.
“One of the four will be the winner of the World Cup,” Bujjingo said in the clip, adding that people should return to the video after one of the teams had been crowned champions. He made the prediction when 28 teams were still competing in the tournament.
However, after Spain’s triumph, internet users dug up the old video and began sharing it while mocking the pastor’s prediction, accusing him of making a failed prophecy.
Many joked that his list of possible winners missed the eventual champions, with Spain’s victory meaning none of the four teams he mentioned went on to claim the title.
