Diamond Platnumz is officially back on Comedy Store UG’s lineup, but many fans have one question after the latest announcement: What happens to the tickets they bought for the postponed anniversary show?
Comedy Store this week unveiled its Retro Tour, set for October 30, 2026, at Lugogo Cricket Oval, with the Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz headlining the event.
Rwanda’s The Ben and Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi also remain on the bill, alongside a long list of Ugandan musicians and comedians.
The announcement follows Comedy Store’s May 29 decision to postpone its 10th anniversary celebration, which had been scheduled for June 5, because of the Ebola outbreak.
Offering clarity at the time, Comedy Store founder Alex Muhangi told Sanyuka TV that fans had already snapped up more than 5,000 tickets and reserved numerous tables ahead of the anniversary celebration.
He emphasized that they had postponed the event rather than canceled it.
The show was going to happen this Friday at Cricket Oval. People had paid. Over 5,000 people had bought tickets. Tables had also been bought.
Muhangi also assured customers that Comedy Store would refund anyone who no longer wished to attend when the event returned because every ticket sale went through the online platform.

He added that Comedy Store would announce a new date once authorities allowed concerts to resume.
Following Comedy Store’s Retro Tour announcement on July 22, several fans turned to the comments section, asking whether the tickets they bought for the postponed anniversary celebration will still grant them entry to the October 30 show.
Organizers had not issued a public response at the time of publication.
