Ugandan artist Kalifah AgaNaga has revealed that he plans to continue doing music for 40 years and accumulate enough wealth from royalties on different streaming platforms for his children to use when they are older.
While on an interview, Kalifah AgaNaga revealed that he does not withdraw the money platforms like YouTube give him because he would like to let it accumulate into reasonable amounts, as savings for the future.
He then plans to gift it to his children to save them from poverty, a plan he is ready to pursue for many more years to come.
YouTube doesn’t pay a lot of money. Every month, they may give you Ugx1M or Ugx2M, but in the long run, it accumulates into a big sum. Imagine you don’t withdraw it and let it accumulate for about 5 years.
That’s why I don’t withdraw the money I make on digital platforms. Those are the gifts I would want to give to my children. Instead of them having wrangles over land and other materialistic things, I would like them to fight for these royalties on my different digital platforms.
If I sing for 40 years and die at about 80 years old, I would have over Ugx15 billion on these platforms. Those are the types of savings I am making for my children.
