Miss Uganda Elle Trivia Muhoza turns the page with memoir ahead of Miss World – Sqoop

For many beauty queens, winning the crown becomes the defining chapter of their story.

For Miss Uganda 2025/26 Elle Trivia Muhoza, however, it is merely the chapter the public got to see.

The chapters that came before—those shaped by pain, healing and personal growth—are the ones she is finally ready to share.

Over the weekend, Muhoza launched her memoir, SPO!LER Alert – You Survived, at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, choosing to reveal the woman behind the crown just days before departing to represent Uganda at the Miss World pageant in Vietnam.

Rather than stage a conventional beauty queen send-off filled with glamour and celebration, the evening was intentionally framed as a Healing Gala, shifting the focus from pageantry to conversations about resilience, recovery and emotional wellbeing.

The memoir is rooted in Muhoza’s own experiences, exploring trauma, healing, self-discovery and the courage required to rebuild after life’s difficult moments. Through its central message—“You owe it to yourself to heal fast”—the book encourages readers to confront pain instead of concealing it.

For a public figure whose image is often associated with elegance, confidence and perfection, the decision to publish such a personal account represents a different kind of courage.

“I survived” is more than the book’s title. It is the statement Muhoza is carrying into the next stage of her journey as Uganda’s representative on the global pageant stage.

The launch attracted a cross-section of Uganda’s creative and social circles, including singer Maurice Kirya, Prince David Kintu Wasajja, fashion designers Abbas Kaijuka and Joram Muzira, celebrity hairstylist Kennedy Zziwa of Hair by Zziwa, former beauty queens, media personalities, sponsors and close friends.

Their presence reflected the growing support surrounding a queen whose platform is extending beyond beauty into conversations about mental wellness and personal healing.

The timing of the memoir also adds another layer to Muhoza’s reign.

While many titleholders use their year in office to champion social causes, Muhoza has chosen to begin by sharing her own story, using vulnerability as a form of advocacy and encouraging others to embrace healing without shame.

As she prepares to compete at Miss World in Vietnam, she will carry more than Uganda’s flag. She will also carry a story that began long before the crown—a story she hopes will resonate with people facing struggles of their own.
