Mawokota North Member of Parliament Amelia Kyambadde has publicly hit back at her predecessor, musician-turned-politician Hilary Kiyaga, popularly known as Dr Hilderman, accusing him of repeatedly insulting and abusing her despite having previously benefited from her support.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Mawokota North, Kyambadde said she had supported Dr Hilderman at a time when he was struggling financially and urged him to appreciate people who had helped him in the past.
I helped you when you were very broke and poor. You should appreciate the people who have ever helped you.
Kyambadde also addressed the ongoing legal dispute between the two politicians, urging Dr Hilderman to allow the courts to determine the outcome of his election petition instead of continuing what she described as a political confrontation.
Dr Hilderman, who represented Mawokota North before losing the seat to Kyambadde in the January 15, 2026 elections, is challenging her victory in court.
The petition, which also names the Electoral Commission, remains active. Kyambadde’s remarks therefore come amid an ongoing political and legal dispute between the former and current Mawokota North MPs.
