Abdul Ssekajja has opened up about his decision to marry singer Chosen Becky despite her having children, saying their shared experience as parents made it easier for him to understand and love her.
Speaking in a YouTube podcast interview, Ssekajja was asked why he chose to marry a woman who already had children. He simply responded, “Because I also had kids.”
He went on to pose a rhetorical question about the growing number of single mothers, asking, “Who should marry single moms?”
According to Ssekajja, having children should not automatically disqualify someone from finding a loving and compatible partner.
Ssekajja argued that a man can choose a woman without children and still discover that she is not the right partner for him. He said compatibility and mutual understanding matter more than whether either partner has children.
“We both have children, just that some people fail to understand each other,” he explained.
He also criticised men who deliberately get women pregnant and then abandon them, saying some men have normalised the habit of refusing to marry after fathering children.
Some men have a habit of saying they don’t want to marry and that they only want to give birth so women fall in our traps.
Ssekajja added that he does not support the practice of abandoning women after making them pregnant. He said his support for single mothers is part of the reason he was able to embrace Chosen Becky and build a relationship with her despite her having children.
