Former Ugandan model Judith Heard has thrown a dose of reality into the glamorous world of social media, warning young women not to let flashy lifestyles make them feel like they are falling behind.
Judith’s message came with one big question: Do you really know what is happening behind the luxury you see online?
In a post on X, she addressed young women who constantly scroll past pictures of Dubai holidays, expensive hotels and apartments, lavish parties and bottles of champagne popping.
Then come the headlines about someone spending millions in a single night, buying a new car or acquiring property.
According to Judith, seeing those stories over and over can slowly make someone question their own progress.

But Judith wants young women to stop and think before allowing those images to define their worth.
She pointed out that people watching from the outside rarely know who paid for a particular trip or what arrangement sits behind an expensive apartment or hotel stay.
You do not know who paid for that trip. You do not know the arrangement behind that apartment or hotel. You do not know the financial reality behind what you arewatching.
Her point was not that every glamorous lifestyle is fake.
Rather, she wants young women to remember that social media shows the picture, not the entire financial story behind it.
Judith also acknowledged the reality facing many young Ugandans who work hard without seeing immediate results.
You can study, work every day, earn little and save whatever you can, she noted, yet still wonder when your own breakthrough will arrive.
And according to her, that slow progress does not mean you have failed.
That does not mean you are failing.
Instead of abandoning their own journeys to imitate what they see online, Judith urged young women to keep building their lives at their own pace.
Keep studying. Keep working. Keep building. Keep saving. Keep praying.
She ended her message with a Bible verse from Psalm 126:5, reminding her followers that difficult seasons do not last forever.
Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
