Bad Black believes Uganda’s era of real socialites is fading fast.
The internet personality says the title no longer carries the same meaning it once did, arguing that many people who now call themselves socialites have simply built large followings online.
Speaking to Galaxy FM, Bad Black looked back at personalities she considers the real deal, including Zari Hassan, Judith Heard, and herself.

For Bad Black, popularity alone does not earn someone the socialite title.
She argues that a genuine socialite should have substantial wealth and a lifestyle that matches the status, rather than relying on online attention or controversy to stay relevant.
That is why she does not place Kisitu Kirabo and Sheilah Gashumba in the same category.
Bad Black also took aim at the current generation of personalities who use their massive TikTok followings as proof of celebrity status.
In her view, hundreds of thousands of followers do not automatically turn someone into a socialite.
Her verdict on the current scene was even harsher: Uganda, she claims, now has more “drunkards” than genuine socialites.
