Yung Mulo Vows Legal Action Over Name Mix-Up With Convicted Criminal

Yung Mulo has found himself fighting a battle he says he should never have had to fight after reports about a criminal sentenced to 130 years in prison left some people thinking the singer was the man behind the crime.

The trouble started when the convicted criminal identified himself as “Young Mulo.”

Some reports published the alias without clearly identifying him by his real name, creating confusion around the musician, whose stage name is Yung Mulo.

Now, the singer says the mix-up has gone too far.

Yung Mulo, born Lubega Kassim, took to social media to distance himself from the case and accuse media outlets of damaging his name.

According to him, some reports gave readers the impression that he had been arrested and handed the 130-year sentence.

The timing has also frustrated him, as he focuses on promoting his upcoming show scheduled for October 9 in Munyonyo.

You have created your own ‘Young Mulos’ to soil and tarnish my name and image. I am busy promoting my show that is slated to happen October 9 in Munyonyo, but some have written in the papers claiming I was arrested and jailed for 130 years.

But Yung Mulo is not stopping at clearing his name.

He questioned how the convicted man came to use the “Young Mulo” name and why media platforms continued publishing it without properly identifying the person behind it.

The singer says he claimed the name “Yung Mulo” through the proper legal channels and now plans to gather every report that linked him to the convicted criminal.

I claimed the name ‘Yung Mulo’ in courts of law. I am going to gather evidence and everything that was published by any media platform and head to courts of law so that you explain and produce evidence of the other guy, where he got or claimed the ‘Yung Mulo’ name from that you are all promoting.

For Yung Mulo, the issue is no longer just about correcting a case of mistaken identity.

He says the reports have tarnished his image, confused his fans and created the false impression that he is serving a 130-year prison sentence.

The singer now plans to compile the evidence as he considers taking the media platforms he believes misrepresented him to court.
