Country singer Brad Paisley became emotional while performing his 2005 duet with Dolly Parton days after the country legend’s death.
Paisley sang “When I Get Where I’m Going” during his August 27 concert in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He performed the song alone with an acoustic guitar as images of Parton appeared during the tribute.
Afterward, Paisley spoke about how the song now feels different following Parton’s death.
I never thought it would be about her, but it is. It’s everything she believed.
Paisley originally recorded the song with Parton in 2005, and their collaboration became one of his biggest hits.
Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
Paisley’s performance came just days after the singer’s death, as musicians across the country music world began paying tribute to her.
