The Game has revealed the one rap beef from his past that he wishes he had avoided: his dispute with Dr. Dre over the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show.
The Compton rapper made the admission while discussing conflicts he regrets.
You know what I wish? Probably, probably the Super Bowl beef with Dre.
The controversy dates back to Super Bowl LVI, which took place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Dre performed during the halftime show with Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.
The Game was not part of the performance and later publicly questioned why Dre had not included him.
He said the decision had hurt him and argued that Dre should have contacted him directly.
I was hurt by that. Dre should have called and said why. I just know if I was Dre and he was Game, he would’ve been up there. That’s just it. L.A., I am L.A. I’m in the streets.
Dre later gave his own response when the subject came up during his “Drink Champs” appearance.
Asked whether he thought anyone had been left out of the halftime show, Dre said:
No, I was good. It was perfect.
The Super Bowl dispute also became part of the wider tension surrounding The Game’s “The Black Slim Shady,” in which he took aim at Eminem.
The Game has now singled out the dispute with Dre when asked which beef he regrets.
