Ugandan singer-songwriter Aziz Azion has revealed that he did not know Diamond Platnumz had welcomed a new baby with singer Zuchu.
While appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, Aziz said the news had not yet reached him despite his friendship with the Tanzanian Bongo Flava superstar.
Diamond and Zuchu, one of Tanzania’s popular music couples, welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The couple announced the birth through a joint statement on social media alongside a photo from the hospital.
After learning about the new arrival, Aziz said he plans to reach out to Diamond personally.
I did not know about Diamond’s baby, but I will send him a message and congratulate him.
The two musicians have a history that goes beyond friendship, with Diamond once putting his own spin on one of Aziz’s biggest songs.
At the Comedy Store Fundraising Concert at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala on July 14, 2023, Diamond performed Aziz’s hit Luganda song “Nkumira Omukwano.”
Diamond dedicated the song to his baby mama, South Africa-based Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan, during the performance.
Aziz later expressed his delight at seeing a star of Diamond’s stature perform his song and revealed plans to travel to Tanzania for a potential remix of “Nkumira Omukwano.”
That previous musical connection now sits alongside Aziz’s latest plans to reach out to Diamond and congratulate him on the arrival of his new baby.
