14 Dead, 28 Injured After Bus Collides With Trailer on Kampala-Gulu Highway

A night journey turned tragic after a deadly road crash at Bobi Trading Centre along the Kampala–Gulu Highway left 14 people dead and 28 others nursing injuries.

The accident happened on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at about 9:34pm and involved an Isuzu bus UBE 110H belonging to Opit Travellers Company and a Mercedes-Benz Actros trailer KBS 564D/ZE 7948.

Preliminary police findings indicate that the bus driver was allegedly speeding when he attempted to avoid a pedestrian crossing the road. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into the path of the oncoming trailer in a deadly head-on collision.

Fourteen passengers were pronounced dead, while 28 others sustained injuries and were rushed to various medical facilities for treatment.

Police traffic officers have since launched investigations into the crash as they warn motorists to exercise extra caution, especially at night when visibility is poor.

Traffic Police spokesperson SP Michael Kananura urged drivers to maintain safe speeds, remain alert in trading centres and always drive at speeds that allow them to stop safely in case of danger.

  • Levixone denies planting live seed in Desire Luzinda’s womb

Levixone denies planting live seed in Desire Luzinda’s womb

Gospel star Levixone has firmly dismissed claims that his sweetheart, Desire Luzinda, is ballooned after an AI-generated image showing her with a protruding baby bump sparked a social media frenzy.

The manipulated photo spread rapidly across Facebook, TikTok and X, convincing many fans that the couple were preparing to welcome their first child together. Within hours, congratulatory messages flooded social media as the image gained traction.

However, Levixone has now set the record straight, revealing that the viral photo is entirely fake and warning about the growing dangers of artificial intelligence being used to mislead the public.

“The photo itself is AI. I don’t know who did it but whoever did it, they might be after something,” Levixone said.

His response quickly shut down the speculation, ending days of online chatter surrounding the couple’s family plans.

The incident has also reignited concerns over the misuse of AI technology, which is increasingly being used to create realistic but false images capable of fooling thousands of social media users within minutes.

With AI-generated content becoming more sophisticated, celebrities are finding themselves frequent targets of digitally altered photos and fabricated stories that can spread before the truth has a chance to catch up.

Levixone and Desire Luzinda have remained one of Uganda’s most closely followed celebrity couples since publicly confirming their relationship. Every milestone in their personal lives has attracted intense public interest, making them frequent subjects of online speculation.

Following Levixone’s clarification, many supporters came to the couple’s defence, condemning those behind the fake image while urging social media users to verify information before sharing viral posts.

  • After Prima, Zahara Totto Wants to Fight Zari Hassan

After Prima, Zahara Totto Wants to Fight Zari Hassan

Prima Kardashi has not even thrown the first punch, yet Zahara Totto is already talking about the woman she wants to fight after her.

During a press conference ahead of their September 12 celebrity boxing match, Zahara Totto named South Africa-based Ugandan businesswoman and socialite Zari Hassan as the opponent she wants to face next.

After Prima, I want to beat Zari. Let her come and face me in the ring.

She also shut down calls for a bout against YouTuber Zubedah Byantalo.

Zubeda is not worth it. I want Zari.

When asked why she had chosen Zari, Zahara Totto pointed to the businesswoman’s standing within Uganda’s social scene.

In Uganda, if you look around, the only socialite who is corporate… there is no one except Zari Hassan.

The comments add another layer of intrigue to Zahara Totto’s upcoming clash with Prima, even before the pair have stepped into the ring.

For now, though, all roads lead to the Lugogo Indoor Arena, where Zahara Totto must first get past Prima before she can begin chasing the fight she wants with Zari.

  • Winnie Nwagi on Public Proposal Rejections: “You Will Make These Men Hate Proposals”

Winnie Nwagi on Public Proposal Rejections: “You Will Make These Men Hate Proposals”

Winnie Nwagi has weighed in on the growing number of women rejecting marriage proposals in public, saying the viral moments may entertain social media users but can leave lasting emotional scars.

Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, the Swangz Avenue star said she sympathizes with men who invest time, money, and emotion into planning elaborate proposals, only to face rejection in front of family, friends, or strangers.

The way women are turning down proposals lately… muli baka mbatidde.

While Nwagi acknowledged that no one should feel pressured to accept a proposal they do not want, she urged women to handle those situations with more compassion.

She suggested that if a woman already knows she has no intention of marrying the man, she could spare him the public humiliation and instead explain her decision in private.

If you do not like the guy like that, at least you can pretend and say yes, then break it down for him after leaving the place… that kind of embarrassment is not really nice.

Nwagi believes the growing number of proposal rejection videos spreading across social media could discourage other men from proposing, especially those who already struggle with confidence.

A guy out there with low self-esteem would never do it even if he loves his woman… not after all these videos going around. Yo gonna make these men hate proposals.

She added that she would never publicly reject someone who had gone to such lengths to plan a proposal.

Personally I would not do that to someone who has put in such effort. I will rather play cool, then we sort ourselves after… in the most polite way possible.

Jermaine Dupri Sues Sony Music for $18 Million Over Alleged Unpaid Royalties

Jermaine Dupri has taken Sony Music Entertainment to court, claiming the company owes him more than $18 million in unpaid royalties.

The legendary producer alleges Sony underreported earnings, failed to account for some royalties, and used misleading accounting practices throughout their decades-long business relationship.

The lawsuit names several high-profile projects involving Mariah Carey, Usher, Kris Kross, Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Bow Wow, J-Kwon, and Bone Crusher.

Among the claims, Dupri says Sony still owes him more than $2.2 million from Kris Kross’ early albums. He also questions the company’s accounting records for Xscape, arguing they do not reflect the group’s platinum-selling success.

Dupri has asked the court to award him at least $18 million in damages, plus interest and legal costs. Sony has not commented publicly on the allegations.
