Reign Omusoyisoyi says public eye harms couples

Reign Omusoyisoyi has cautioned people against putting their relationships in the public eye, arguing that doing so exposes couples to unnecessary negativity and pressure.

Speaking during a sit-down interview with Roger Otis on The Deep Talk, Reign shared her concerns about what she described as a “bad eye” from the public, saying many people project their own failed relationships onto others they see online.

Ugandans don’t wish others well. In fact, it’s not only Uganda, it’s everywhere. People don’t want to see others doing well and being happy.

People don’t want those who are in love, so for that reason, if you decide to put your relationship in public, you’re doomed.

Reign emphasized that public relationships often come with constant scrutiny, forcing couples to explain themselves whenever anything appears off. According to him, even minor issues can quickly turn into public speculation once a relationship is exposed online.

He further pointed out that oversharing, especially on social media, can make matters worse. Reign claimed that some partners, particularly women, tend to air out private matters publicly, sometimes even hinting at intimate details in indirect ways.

The problem is that once you put your relationship out there, whatever happens at home can end up in public.
