Outspoken media personality Prima Kardashi has advised her close friend An-Known and other Ugandan musicians to elevate the quality of their music videos if they hope to compete on a bigger stage.
Speaking candidly, Prima noted that while many Ugandan artistes produce great audio music, their visuals often fail to match the standard of the songs, giving what she described as overly “local vibes.”

According to her, improving visual production is key to helping artists expand beyond the local market.
She encouraged musicians to borrow inspiration from Joshua Baraka, whom she praised for successfully blending urban aesthetics with modern storytelling in his music projects.
An-Known, you need to improve the quality of your video releases. You’re very talented, but your videos feel too local. You have to learn how to blend an urban touch into your music.
The mother of two emphasized that every detail in a music video matters, from styling to casting, noting that video vixens and overall presentation significantly influence how audiences perceive an artist’s brand.
Someone records a good song but doesn’t even give the vixens money to shop for nice outfits. Even the people you feature in your videos matter.
Prima further urged artists to invest time in planning strong storylines instead of rushing to release visuals without artistic direction.
Artists need to sit down and discuss the storyline before dropping visuals. Stop doing mediocre things because they keep you in the local setting. Your video is your brand, so invest fully in it and avoid using the same vixens all the time.
