As Uganda counts down the hours to the July 4 Comedy Festival, events promoter Abtex has delivered a blunt message to anyone planning to prey on revelers: stay home.
Confident that security arrangements will keep the event under control, Abtex believes comedy fans should spend the day laughing, not worrying about thieves.
Security is enough, and I advise thieves to stay home because there will be no room for them at this event.
The warning comes as thousands of fans prepare to flock to the UMA Show Grounds for what Abtex has billed as Uganda’s first-ever comedy festival.
The July 4 event will feature some of the country’s biggest comedians and entertainers, with gates opening at 12:00 pm for a full day of performances.
