MC Kapale has pushed back against claims that he keeps telling the same jokes, saying some fans have unrealistic expectations.
The Ugandan comedian, born Simon Kigwana, explained during an appearance on Sanyuka TV that fans who attend several of his performances within the same week often expect an entirely new routine each time, even though comedy does not work that way.
Why would a fan follow me everywhere I go? I perform in Kawempe today, then tomorrow you follow me to Mukono expecting a completely different show. Why don’t you wait until I return to Kawempe next month?
Kapale said comedians usually perform the same material at several shows before replacing it with fresh jokes.
He also brushed off criticism about his performances, insisting his comedy continues to entertain audiences across the country.
