Madonna is leading the pack at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards after picking up 11 nominations.
Taylor Swift follows with nine nominations, setting up an interesting contest between two of music’s biggest stars.
Madonna earned nods in major categories including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for her latest work.
Swift also landed a Video of the Year nomination for “The Fate of Ophelia” and will compete in eight other categories.
Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter each received seven nominations, while Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson picked up five each.
The 2026 MTV VMAs will take place on September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Madonna’s latest nominations add to her remarkable history at the awards.
She has won 19 VMAs, while Swift has 30 career wins and could add to that record this year.
