Barbara Eden Cancels Major Public Appearance After Sudden Illness

Barbara Eden has pulled out of a major public appearance after falling ill.

The 95-year-old actress, best known for playing the iconic genie in “I Dream of Jeannie,” canceled her appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles on September 5.

Festival organizers announced the cancellation shortly before Eden was due to appear.

We are sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon tonight.

The organizers said Eden regretted missing the event because she had looked forward to meeting fans and celebrating with them.

Eden was also due to receive the Cinecon Legacy Award. Her longtime co-star Pat Boone accepted the honor on her behalf.

The nature of Eden’s illness remains private.

The actress has continued working and appearing publicly despite her age. Just last month, she told Entertainment Weekly that she would still consider new roles if she liked the material.

If it is well written, I would probably do anything. If it is well written.”

Fans are now hoping the Hollywood veteran makes a quick recovery.
