Last Friday was a night to remember. After almost a decade of uniting all party people with sensational party bangers, Vinka’s long-awaited maiden Live & Loud concert was nothing short of exceptional.

Amidst flashing lights and screams, Vinka took the stage flanked by an army of backup dancers whose precise dance moves complemented every beat of her Thank God hit, which gave her a perfect start to the memorable night.

True to her signature style, her performance was a showstopping showcase of vibrant energy and charisma that commanded the crowd from start to finish.

Coupled with striking outfits, it was even harder to take your eyes off the stage as each look was a moment in itself. From the pink flowy gowns to the bedazzled denim set, Vinka’s looks were such a bold fashion statement.

Opening with some of her top-charting hits like By the way, Love Panic, and Overdose with Kent & Flosso, Vinka got her fans hooked onto the stage as she performed alongside other artists like Winnie Nwagi, Elijah Kitaka, Spice Diana, Aaronix, Laika Music, and more unexpected stage appearances.

The moment was crowned with a colorful display of fireworks in the sky as fans danced and sang along to each and every song.

At the heart of this celebration was Uganda Waragi that toasted to Vinka’s artistry with her fans together with Bell Lager.

Following King Saha and Ray G’s successful concerts at Kololo Independence Grounds, Spice Diana has urged artists to believe in themselves more and dare to do bigger things regardless of public scrutiny.

Both artists registered sold-out concerts despite being weeks apart, and Spice Diana believes that is inspirational enough for other artists to go on and dare themselves at the venue which was once believed too big

She gave an example of herself and how she held her first concert at a small venue before later making history at bigger venues like Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Spice, who travelled to Tanzania to shoot the visuals for her trending song ‘Finally’, also hinted at the possibility of holding a concert at Kololo Independence Grounds, noting that she will have good news for her fans before the end of the year.

We’re in preparations before the year ends; I will have some good news. That’s the same way you used to talk about Lugogo, but we filled it up, and it’s no longer a huge venue.

Artists need to stop underrating themselves; we all started small, and we have done everything they said we wouldn’t. We’ve done it all, and we’re still doing it.

Singer Uncle Chumi has spoken out about a heated exchange with a Special Forces Command (SFC) soldier that has sparked debate on social media.

The confrontation happened during heavy rain in Kampala on Tuesday, August 25, after Chumi accused the soldier of splashing rainwater on her from a vehicle. In footage circulating online, Chumi confronts the soldier and demands compensation for her clothes.

“If I committed an offence, you have to use the law. If you use force with me, I will react,” the soldier is heard telling Chumi. The singer responds: “I am not one of those people you familiarise with. You have to buy me new clothes.”

According to Chumi, the soldier had seen her filming before driving through the rain and splashing water onto him. She said he approached the soldier, who apologised after being told that the incident had ruined her clothes and hair dye following a recent haircut.

I came out to speak with him and he was humble. I told him that he had ruined my clothes and hair dye because I had just had a haircut. He apologised.

Chumi explained that the situation escalated after she noticed two civilian women inside the vehicle recording the confrontation. She said their presence and response caused her to lose her temper.

When I looked into his car I noticed that there were two civilian women recording me. That is why I lost my cool. I asked why they were recording but they asked what I was going to do about it.

Chumi added that the soldier also became agitated when she confronted the women, suggesting that one of them could have been the soldier’s wife.

While I confronted them I think one of them might have been his wife, so he also became agitated.

Despite the heated exchange, Chumi insisted that she has no personal problem with the soldier or members of the security forces.

I was not angry at him. I am a friend of the soldiers. There’s nothing much.

Police have provided an update on the murder of 22-year-old Jovia Namuwulya, confirming that Kira Road Police have commenced investigations into the incident.

Speaking to the press, the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson, SP Rachel Kawala, confirmed that the murder occurred between midnight and 6:00 a.m. on August 20, 2026.

The deceased has been identified as Jovia Namuwulya, approximately 22 years old, who was working as a waitress and was a resident of Mukalazi Zone, Bukoto I Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District.

According to police, Namuwulya had rented a room at the residence approximately seven months ago. About three months after moving in, she reportedly received a female visitor identified as Turindamukama Rose, who later started living with her in the same room.

Police said that on 20th August, relatives of Namuwulya contacted the caretaker after failing to reach her on the phone.

The caretaker, together with Namuwulya’s sister, reportedly proceeded to her room, where they found the door locked. Upon looking through the window, they allegedly noticed blood stains inside the room.

They subsequently gained access to the room and found Namuwulya lying in a pool of blood. However, her friend, Turindamukama Rose, was reportedly nowhere to be found and is currently being sought by police in connection with the incident.

On August 20, 2026, the caretaker of the houses received a call from the relatives of the deceased inquiring about Jovia as she was reportedly not responding to their calls. The caretaker, together with the deceased’s sister, proceeded to the room where Jovia was staying.

Upon arrival, they found the room locked. On looking through the window, they observed blood stains inside the room. They subsequently accessed the room and found Jovia lying in a pool of blood.

The deceased’s body was taken to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.

Police said efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the suspect, while urging anyone with information that could help identify or locate her to report to the nearest police station.

The public has also been urged to exercise caution when dealing with people they do not know well, particularly when granting them access to their homes and property.
